SPMAFI Letter to Alumni
16 December 2008
Dear fellow Paulinians
First of all, let me wish you and your loved ones a Blessed
Christmas and a truly Happy New Year!
This coming year, 2009, is a most exciting one for all of us
Paulinians, for two great reasons: 1) We are coming closer to the centennial of
our school in 2012; and 2) We are
celebrating the Year of St. Paul, from
28 June 2008 to 29 June 2009, as declared by no less than our beloved
Pontiff, Pope Benedict XVII.
For these reasons, we would like to urge you all to come back to
our Alma Mater and be one with us in our Annual General Homecoming on
Saturday, 24 January 2009.
Note that the homecoming is on a Saturday, rather than on Sunday, the 25th. This is because on
25 January 2009, there will be a Grand Rally of all Pauline
congregations and their schools in the Araneta Coliseum, to which we are also
inviting you.
The Silver Jubilarians for
2009 (High School 1984), in coordination with the other Jubilarian Classes
and the Board of Trustees of the St. Paul Manila Alumni Foundation, Inc.
(SPMAFI), have prepared the following line-up of activities for the homecoming:
12:00 NN
Registration (Pedro Gil entrance hall)
02:00 P.M. Eucharistic Celebration
(Chapel of the Crucified Christ)
03:00 P.M.
Picture taking (Chapel steps)
04:00 P.M.
Program, Merienda,
Inter-action
Quadrangle
06:00 P.M.
Dancing
The program, the theme of which is “Rock with You: Reliving the Sounds of Our Times,” will have numbers from
the different jublarian classes
Diamond -1949
Emerald -1954
Golden -1959
Sapphire -1964
Ruby
-1969
Coral
-1974
Pearl
-1979
Silver -1984
We have set all activities, except the Mass, in the quadrangle so
that we can watch the program, eat and drink, and renew ties with old
classmates, teachers, and friends in one happy, comfortable venue.
The annual registration fee is still P 250.00. Lifetime membership is P5,000.00
(which may be paid in five annual installments).
Food booths will be available for the merienda.
We are inviting the old Sisters and teachers to come and help us
reminisce the “golden days in the sunshine of our happy youth.” Please come. We are enjoining the college alumnae
to take a more active part in the homecoming because there will be no more High
School Silver Jubilarians after 2011 and the college jubilarians will have to
take the ball.
We look forward to seeing you
on
24 January 2009. Do help
us pass the word around as we may not be able to reach everyone by e- or snail
mail.
Sincerely in the spirit of
St. Paul,
Sherry Lara-Alingod
President
