Christian Formation

In Paulinian schools, Christian Formation is seen as both a way of life and a process. As a way of life it permeates all activities, policies, rules and regulations of the institution and as a process it can be organized, structured and programmed.

The Christian Formation Division is responsible for creating and sustaining the Catholic identity of the school through the three-fold program of religious education, campus ministry, and community development program.

To effectively carry out its primary objectives, the Christian Formation Division shall within limits of established policies and approved budgets be charged with these functions and responsibilities.

  1. Implement pre-arranged plans of courses and activities to bring the different sectors in the entire school community to an understanding of the Catholic faith and to help them live an integrated Christian life.
  2. Enliven the spiritual life of the school community so that Faith becomes truly living, conscious and active.
  3. Nurture Christ-centeredness and a setting for growth and development to build a praying, reconciling, just and service-oriented community
  4. Initiate love and appreciation for the word of God and challenges the school community of believers to live it authentically
  5. Oversee and evaluate performance of the division and the general implementation of the division’ Program for effective and continuous development

Organization of the Unit

The Christian Formation Division is so structured as to ensure interdependence in development and integration of the three dimensions in the life of the school community, hence the three components:

  • Religious Education, which is primarily concerned with Education in Faith,
  • Campus Ministry, which attends to the sacramental and prayer life of the Paulinian Community and
  • Community Development Center, which translates faith into acts of charity and justice.

Thus, integrating the three components that correspond to the three dimensions of Faith, may close the gap between Faith as believed and life as lived.

Religious Education Program

The Religious Education Program ensures Christ-centered, systematic, organic, community-forming, inculturated, and integrated learning. It focuses on the classroom setting and ensures that the various aspects of the Christian message are clearly delineated. This becomes the starting point and source of integration of Catholic faith and life that leads to genuine Gospel spirituality for the students.

Campus Ministry

The Campus Ministry is responsible for the nurturing of a lively Catholic and Christian environment through various religious celebrations in the campus. Coordinates plans, programs, and activities of the Campus Ministry Office with the respective units of the members. Evaluates the plans, programs and activities of the Campus Ministry Office at the end of each semester and recommends changes for the continuous improvement.

Community Development Center

The Community Development Center serves as the arm of the University for its Community Development initiatives. Its mandate is based on the three-fold functions of Higher Education, which are Instruction, Research and Community Extension. It provides a stable venue and direction that fosters volunteerism and social involvement of all sectors of the institution at all times of the year.
