MALATE, Philippines - In a festive celebration at the Our Lady of Remedies Parish, Malate Church, an annual event dedicated to the Blessed Virgin last November 11 unfolded with vibrant musical performances from various chorale groups.

This cherished concert tradition, held a week before the Fiesta of Our Lady of Remedies, featured esteemed groups, such as the UP Manila Chorale, the Supreme Court Chorale, and the St. Paul University Manila (SPUM) Chorale.

Led by Mr. Icon Fernandez, the SPUM Chorale, consisting of 27 talented members, showcased their musical talent with renditions of "Ubi Caritas" and "Sugatan Mo, Panginoon."

The concert was held at 7:00 to 10:00 PM, but the performers were at the site since 2:00 P.M., diligently rehearsing their respective pieces. Adding a touch of cultural flair, the chorale groups wore traditional Filipino attire, the barong and baro't saya.

Despite the pressure, the SPUM Chorale delivered an enchanting performance, that captivated both the audience and their fellow singers.

Although the event was not a competition, the commitment of each group resonated, making the concert truly remarkable.

For the grand finale, the chorale groups united in harmony to perform "You Are Mine" by David Haas and "Awit sa Birhen delos Remedios" by Lucio D. San Pedro. The SPUM Chorale was a source of pride for the University, inspiring young Paulinian musicians to join the group. The event highlighted the Paulinians’ talents in music and the performing arts.
