    Filipinos should still commemorate the 1986 EDSA People Power revolution even though its anniversary this year was not listed as a holiday by Malacañang, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) said yesterday. According to Ian Christopher Alfonso, officer-in-charge of the NHCP’s research, publications, and heraldry division, Filipinos should remember and honor the uprising that ousted dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and forced his family into exile.

    In the penultimate event of SPU Manila’s University Week 2024, students from all college departments, along with the Paulinian community cheered for their next Mr. & Ms. Paulinian Ambassadors. The search looks for students who represent the ideals of being a Paulinian and will be the next faces of SPU Manila. They are the ones who possess the brains, charisma, personality, and character that can represent the community and set the standards for future Paulinians.

    The Pet Parade for a Cause organized by the Paulinian Environmental Society (PES) marked the third day of University Week at SPU Manila, aiming to collect donations for the PAWSsion Project. Traditional Filipino games and the Paulinian Dance Troupe added to the day's festivities. The day culminated in a Eucharistic Celebration commemorating the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul, followed by the recognition of service awardees from SPU Manila and the St. Paul Center for Renewal.

    OTG 2024: Grooving to Timely and Timeless Korean Pop Hits
    The second day of SPU Manila’s University Week ended with the Out-to-Groove competition. Paulinian students and employees gathered at the campus grounds to witness the street dance competition. The event was organized by the Paulinian Dance Troupe (PDT), led by Ms. Hannah Bisco and Mr. Melvin Macuha, the organization’s president and moderator, respectively. The competition had the theme “Unleashing Your Inner Idol” and featured dance performances of K-pop hits.
